Tail tidy?

#1 Post by danowat » Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:19 am

Looking at the tail tidy on RSVR.net, looks ok for the price, I want to tidy up the back end a bit a remove the huge tail piece.

Can anyone tell me if fitting one like the one on RSVR.net involves any cutting, also any pics of that one fitted, and are there any alternatives.

Cheers

Tail Tidy

Hi Dan, Fitted one a few months ago the only fiddly bit was installing the rear no plate light you have to drill a small hole through the undertray, having said that it looks great and with a smaller number plate looks fantastic, and much better than in RSVR's photo's. I also changed the indicators to the german ebay cl :smt001 ear ones. All there is left to do is ride it!!

If you mean the Evoluzione one (95021) then I can recommend it. A bit fiddly to fit with tiny bolts and nuts but you don't need to cut the plastics and can easily return to stock if required.

You really will need a smaller number plate though as...

1. A full size one looks silly !!

2. Full size is too heavy I felt and "flexed" too much.

3. The rear indicator brackets are quite close together ( on the Evoluzione bracket itself ) and the indicators will look odd poking out at the sides of a big plate. At least the indicators I have did (short stems)

Also I didn't bother with the poxy no. plate lamp supplied. I went for a Motrax LED stick on jobbie which seems to work well.

Don't forget your reflector ..... :smt002

Oh- I'll try a photo tomorrow. If I can work it out.

now get some PVC sleeving/flex conduit for the wires to finish the job off!
If you don't like it, don't look!

I got the tail tidy from RSVR.net - it's part no. 95021 made by Evoluzione.

Try here - http://www.rsvr.net/pages/performance2. ... +PARTS&c=9#

I WAS impressed by the LED number plate lamp until I noticed it's on the blink (literally) today. Chcecked the wiring but it seems to be the unit itself. 2 of the 4 leds are flashing and the other 2 are unlit !!
I'll take it back of course but it'll be a pain coz it's stuck on with a self adhesive pad.

Oh - it's a Motrax thing. I knew it would be crap; everything they sell is crap; but I still bought it :smt017

I know I know, but it's out of sight man and I fully expect to have to remove them every 100 miles or so to repair/replace etc. Note my previous post.

Dan,
Maybe the alternative is Falcomunky's DIY version that he posted up here:
