MPG?
just curious, as i am about such things
How many miles to the tank do people get?
My fuel light comes on after around 100 miles, and just wanted some idea of what is left there then....
(I just go fill her up! )
This is on normal usage when i am not really caning the bike btw

Sometimes as low as 110, highest 140 odd, but usually 120-130, during a normal "Fun Run".
Never really been on a long steady run anywhere, enjoy the bike too much.

As low as 85 at the TT (quick early morning laps) But normally get around the 120 mark before the light comes on, I had 145 last year on the M1 at a very steady and boring 70ish.
I always have been under the impression that my Falco ran rich (never had it dynoed) I'm running the SL Carbon chip with the Renegade Airkit and the full Mille exhaust system with a race can, but looking at every one else's mpg figures I reckon mine must be pretty good on the mixture setting. Especially as I normally run a fairly low gearing set up (15-43)

90-95 for the 'rush' hour run,
120-140 two-up sodding around France.
So, this means that clearing off to play in France is better for the environment...
...think I can get a grant from Greenpeace for my next holiday?

Yep. I can almost do a " TA DAH" just as the light comes on regular as clockwork at 120.
The only real exception to this was a dual carraigeway trip to P'boro which was most entertaining as I watched and waited and TA DAH ed every couple of miles from 120 onwards. Can't remember when it did come on in the end but obviously steady(ish) throttle cruising makes a fairly big difference.
Going back to Aladinsane's original post - I believe there will be 5 litres left once the light comes on so I will allow 40 miles before full on panic/cold sweats.

I once ran short of fuel whilst in wales on a Sunday, boy finding a garage there is like looking for welsh gold
My low fuel light generally comes on after the occasional wink at around 110 miles but I have managed to get 176 miles on a full tank with the fuel light on for what seemed an age. I recon I had a half cup full in the tank when I finally found a garage open.
My comrade on his BM had around 3 gallons in reserve, Git.
