Cost of Spare Parts

#1 Post by Falco9 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 1:28 pm

AS some of you know, I had a wee accident on the Tuono whilst on our annual hoon around Scotland.

Damage was restricted to the rear plastics (+ decals) an indicator and a small alloy bracket that holds the front master cylinder to the bars.

Looked at all the usual Aprilia parts suppliers on line such as Yorkshire Aprilia, Avalonia in Bolton etc... but then paid a visit to my Aprilia dealer "Kawasaki Autorama" in Batley (part of the Padgetts group) Brian looked at the part numbers gave me a price and said approx 2 weeks delivery

To be honest the prices were very close to the on-line companies but of course no P&P charges. But 2 weeks delivery?? I'll believe that when I see it. Anyway I went ahead and ordered them

2 weeks to the day and everything arrives, everything!! and £50 cheaper than the on-line boys (£380 against the on-line quoted £427)

So it would appear that Aprilia really have finally got their game together on the parts front, and my local dealer will now get ALL my replacement parts orders from now on. It may be worth talking to your dealer for parts instead of clicking the "buy now" button in future as it would appear Aprilia really can deliver parts in a reasonable time frame at long last.

Oooh, that sounds interesting.
Thought they were on the decline when they closed their Coventry branch but if they've picked up an Aprilia franchise, that could be very useful.
Cheers Bob
