Well ...... not really surprised.

Can't remember whether I joined AF1 or ApriliaRidersite first .... think it might have been AF1.
It's a good forum with useful info but there is a tendency for it to be a bit parochial and of the view that the world begins and ends at AF1 ... and that's just the Falco part of AF1 which is a bit more reasoned and open minded than some parts.
Of course not everyone on there is like that and there are a good number of us that frequent both forums .... but recruiting is never going to be easy from there.
TBH I think some see it as poaching and don't really get the idea that you can belong and contribute to more than one forum.

Havent read the link. Dont do AF1.

Tips for attracting the masses.

1. Get some stats up about your bike.
2. Get some pics up of your chosen 'weapon of track destruction' (copyright)

These will bring your Fut fut forum up the ranks of searches.
Use good words now and again like 'RSVR' and 'RS250' and the like in your text to draw hits too. :smt002 Search engines love juicy gossip too so write loads about the attractions of owning one..

3. Naked lapdancers. Always draw a crowd.

Once youve got some info, some chat, some tech answers flying about, point people to them at every opportunity.

Have fun!

giggles

as others have said - af1 can be a little parochial - we have had some amazing fun times over there..... but i digress

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

They're mostly Americans. Anything outside their own borders is 'foreign' and scary.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

How can you say that about the leaders of the free world and protectors of democracy? :smt002

Yes, but posting top quality photos of his immaculate motorcycles against a backdrop of jaw-dropping Colorado scenery in the middle of a shite English winter wasn't necessarily the way to open his account.

Especially when he got the standard 'sod off you bastard, for posting stuff like that' response from the locals. I know, I was one of them...
