France Trip

#1 Post by sfoley1 » Sat Aug 01, 2009 4:35 pm

Went to France last Saturday with 15 other bikes.

In amongst them were a couple of new Fireblades, ZX10R, 2 CBR600RR, Ducati 1098, GSXR1000, etc.

Me and the Falco were not put to shame.

What a ride, some superb roads, none of the group riding like pricks.

The bike got some strange looks when I arrived at the services on the A2 at 4.45am and no one had seen one before.

Once we stopped for coffee in France and I had kept up with the fast group there was a lot of positive comments and some suprised faces. They certainly all enjoyed the noise when I overtook them.

Best day on a bike I've ever had, 160 miles of grinning like a lunatic.

Here's a couple of pics.

Cheers

Simon

P.S Erm, how does one add pictures? Can I just attach from my 'My Pictures' folder like you would when emailing?

No - you have to have your pics hosted somewhere on the internet first. It free... just google picture hosting and select one of the providers.

Finn

No idea. We stuck to A & B roads and didn't come across any tolls.

Cannes should be a great ride. Try getting off the motorways if you can, more fun and less gendarmie

Finn.. if you are riding down to Cannes the fast way, then the best thing to do is use your credit card for the tolls, however, as this is the peak holiday period, be prepared for queues at the peage booths. If you are looking for a less-busy route, you could try the A75 via the Millau Viaduct, down to Montpellier, then travel round the coast to the Riviera.

Yeah I second the credit card method. Pick up a ticket at the start of each section, hand over the ticket and your card at the exits. easy peasy
