I use PJ1 on mine and don't forget to wash it out first. PJ1's cleaner is really easy to use and is very effective.

Just spray on leave 5 mins and wash with clean water.

Anyone care to justify why this thread is in Aprilia rather than the general forum? :smt003

me thinks a mod is trying to get us to use other parts of the forum rather than aprilia sections....

no worries sam, i will find some nice things to pop in the general forums over the next day or so....

What general forum?

Is the world wider than Aprilialand?

What oil

#8 Post by bikeral64 » Fri Sep 18, 2009 3:10 pm

O.k guy's I haven't got a Super 1000cc projectile just a humble Apriliia Pegaso 650 single 1998. But I would still like to know what oil I should use for my first oil change. I know it's boring, I know you all think I should know the answer to this question, but I'm old, my faculties are getting a bit crotchety and it's bad enough trying to work out how to check the oil level on this bike. Get the engine hot, dip the tank quick, before the oil drains back into the sump. Get it wrong and oil blows out of the breather, not enough, well we all know what that means. So be patient with me, you will all be my age one day. All I want to know is:- WHAT OIL IS BEST!!!!!!!

http://www.technical-specification.com/ ... specs-1995 has the info you need in general - 15-40

I am guessing but semi synth would be likely choice though I can find no listing for it

however

go to http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp and download the workshop manual :)

Hate to state the obvious but I use K&N oil with my K&N Filter. :smt001
Should be OK with the Rene though Ian.
Should this be in the K&N section or the Renegade Section? :smt017 :smt017 :smt017 :smt017
Perhaps we could just leave it here, where all the people are!
