just hit £1000 !!!

#1 Post by Steve_P » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:24 pm

After my sprag failed, I made the difficult decision to part out my bike for spares.
As of tonight I received payment for my front wheel and its pushed my total over £1000
Wasnt expecting it to go this high, and still have quite a few bits left, getting a £1000 has really softened the blow of losing my bike.

Once its all gone, if anyone is interested, I will type up a list of all the prices of the parts, might be usefull as a price guide for those buying used spares.

It does help to soften the blow though!
Not done it too often recently, but I have always made money whenever I have decided to break anything like this.
It's one of the main reasons why people nick bikes, so must make money!

Oh Steve - think I forgot to mention I've received the discs - cheers.

Not quite sure when they arrived at work as I've been on hols for a few weeks - but a few days ago my son started a few weeks contracting at work and brought them home for me.

Hope your total goes a bit further still.
Might be worth posting up a list of the remaining bits (maybe with prices - that's up to you). It might jog a few of us into thinking of things we need or would like to pick up to keep by us - this could help you move the remaining things along.

TBH I've thought of something else myself that I might be interested in .... I'll have a think to see if there are other bits too.

I would be hugely interested in price list ! Still waiting for the return of my falco but every week delayed means I could be fit enough to strip it instead of selling as a complete bike (although cat b damaged). Some obscure parts on ebay from breakers are going for silly money. I dont want to price them to keep them, if you know what I mean, but still would like make something back.

in the next few days I 'll type up a list of what I sold/prices, then everytime I sell something, I'll just update it, prices vary massively too, if you bide your time I bet you could make a lot more than I did

Be interesting to see what you get. I got a grand parting out my old Fazer, but it took a year to clear, so I didn't get to enjoy a lump sum all at once.
