Suspension day

#1 Post by paddyz1 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:07 am

I am not happy with my sussy's lately (some minor chaffing :smt002 ). The Falco does not seem to handle very well. To do this effectively i need 2 others

So I propose a suspension day. I need at least 2 forum members and myself to set up the suspension. In return you also get your suspension set up. All setting will be recorded ie original, max rebound and compression, min rebound and compression.
Also i will adjust ride height if it is required (if you so require and the shock allows)

The wife will supply the bacon butties and if time allows we could go for a rideout somewhere aswell (although you will need to go for short bursts to check the new settings)

Any bike can come but i am limited to space so bike will be parked out on the front.#

Any takers

the mental vision seared my eyeballs.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I'm also trying to fiddle with my suspension at the moment. I would be keen but you are a litte far from me.

Would have been except for 2 factors:
  • 1) Yesterday I went for my first serious blast since latest changes to the bike (just under 200miles to my parents and back). It was absolutely superb ... thought I'd just fitted forks, wheels and tyres .... what I found I'd actually done is convert it to "thought control". Never has is been so easy to ride quickly.
    2) Although it was handling really well, on Monday Revs Racing are setting the suspension up properly - part of their service in with rebuilding the forks.

Count me in, been thinking about getting suspension sorted, was wondering about Maxton, whether they do set-ups as well as upgrades. But, definitely up to coming over and doing a bit of fettling.

Likewise - I've been fiddling about with my sussies recently (see other posts). I'd be very interested in comparing notes in a few weeks time. I'll be away from 2nd to 15th July, but sometime after that would be good.

OK thanks Ian - though he won't accept the fact he's had a stroke as "he's not like his mum was" (who had a number of severe strokes).
It's quite a strain on my mum though and she's not very well at present.
Still, helped them out with a few jobs and was nice to see them.
Thanks for asking.

So, whatever happened to this Paddy? Did it happen, or is it still a possibility?

Suspension Day

#13 Post by aspguitars » Tue Sep 08, 2009 5:05 pm

Hi!,
I would be really interested in setting up my suspension. I bought a lowering kit from a German company, and it made no difference. If the day has already gone, then too bad, but if not please count me in.

I'm talking with Griff about setting up things like this (having forgotten all about this thread).
If people want the DIY approach as proposed here that's absolutely fine - alternatively if there's enough interest in getting some input from someone who knows his stuff, I'm happy to talk some more to Griff.

Your opinions gratefully received.
