Hi there have been after a falco for a while now but dont have a great deal to spend there is a falco on ebay but it is regged on a Q plate says it has been imported from overseas also has all proper papers from dvla. This would be in my budget as they make a lot less money would it be possible to try and get an age related plate or is it always stuck on a Q plate?

I stand to be corrected but I believe you'll be stuck with it, and it will likely cost you extra to insure.
I understand it can't be changed to a personalised plate either.

Try the DVLA web site or call them. Like Samray I think that the Q plate might stick I have the feeling age related plates are only for vintage stuff.

q plate is for a rebuilt bike?? maybe its been scraped by the insurance ppl, might be worth doing a txtcheck on it before you buy, maybe worth waiting till funds allow you buy something decent

I think a 'Q' is basically for a bike of indeterminate age, whether clouded by rebuild, import, unregistered race bike, or even stolen recovered with identity ground off fer inst.
There are a few pro's, like it wouldn't be liable for emission or noise regs.

Ah well, never mind - hopefully one will turn up at the right price eventually.
