Well,

Photos of my new bike as promised. Aprilia RSV-R. Its a Nori Haga rep with a few tweaks, most notably underseat exhaust conversion and Gilles rearsets. Yet to get under the tank and see whats there but half expecting something interesting.

I rode down to Peterborough yesterday (220 miles from Newcastle) to pick it up, leaving a 6am. Got there just after opening and when one of the lads had taken it out to fill up with fuel, the sprag clutch started making those horrible noises! So, yes, I've bought a new bike but ended up riding 220 miles home on the Falco while a new sprag is fitted to the RSV. They offered me an Aprilia Hypermotard thing instead as a courtesy bike but it didn't look too comfortable. Anyway, the RSV-R is being delivered to my door this week. It is absolutely stunning and I'm dead chuffed with it. I'll get better photos this week!

Looks loud with those cans! I'd have to pull all the stickers off and have it plane black though, looks good with those wheels.

Pfff I dunno, I could have changed that sprag in a jiffy with only slight damage to surrounding metalwork.

Back looks nice and high for a lankyarse anyway, although looks like a red batterybox? Someone get a photo following him, see if it looks like he has a baboons arse

I see falcopops has got his names down already for the wheels, so I'll stake my claim to the forks. Just in case. You know, for the future.Heaven forbid. Maybe the rearsets aswell

Now, I reckon it's crying out for a swing arm conversion - maybe a nice polished straight one off...oh, I dunno, maybe a Falco one would fit

Yeah - that'd go on just fine - I think a nice shock with a blue spring would complete the job - complement those wheels nicely - until you upgrade them with a set of Brembos.

Make sure you fit the right linkages for that shock, mind.

Its awesome. Simple as.

The tyres are shite in the wet like (Avon Viper sports - they'll be going in the bin) but the way its so light on its feet and flicks about is pure class. You can actually feel each adjustment I've done on the suspension change how the bike handles and the way it accelerates like a scalded cat compared to my Falco.

I'd be very interested to ride a Falco with OZ and Ohlins on though as I think its these bits that make the difference. I don't think a normal RSV would be much if any different really (apart from the extra 10ish bhp).

Bad bit though - its a bit naff in town. Very heavy on the wrists and you have to slip the clutch a lot. A smaller front sprocket will sort that though. Its definitley built for fast road riding rather than the commute to work.
