Left side switches

#1 Post by Syltiz » Sat May 30, 2009 8:45 pm

I must have a learning disability... after 3 years and 2 months of Falco ownership Im still hitting the horn when I mean to indicate, and I still find myself glancing down at the horn/indicator switches. Does anyone know if other aprilia switches will plug and play to the Falco? i.e. from a Pegaso or a RS 125/250?

A very good question! I have a Triumph Sprint, and find it very difficult to adapt to the Falco's indicator/horn setup. Although I now use the Falco as much as the Sprint, old habits die hard and I feel that the conventional arrangement feels more natural, ergonomicallyl.

I don't ever have trouble with the indicators any more .... but I can never, ever find the horn unless I look down for it (ooo eerr, mrs) ...... which really defeats the point ......

Tend to flash the headlights 'cos I can find that switch

No idea about other switchs. But the early milles had the horn and indicators the right way around. (1998-2000 I believe)

Exactly same for me, have two bikes and never have a problem even when I switch, (excuse the pun) except occasionally "losing" the horn and ending up flashing like Andy, (No comments please Andy about the earlier thread re the transit van).
Sorry no answer on the alternative switches.

Now I seem to have opposite problem - I had no dramas adapting to the Falco, but keep tooting random people when I ride the wife's VFR.

VFR's tend to get you like that!

That's what I do! My Triumph has a Stebel Nautilus (loud!) horn, and I find myself blasting innocent pedestrians instead of cancelling my indicators. Slightly embarrassing.

Worse for me... I tooted at a gang of hoodies on Friday which resulted in some dodgy sign language in return... this is what finally prompted me to find a solution.
