Hi all,
Yet another silly newbie question, but here goes. I know the Falco has a built in Rev limiter (ie flashing warning light) but what is the highest you can take the Falco in any gear without causing lasting damage? Obviously not for any extended period of time!

iirc the cut out happens before you can do damage....
(Just under 11000 revs i think)
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

My Rev limiter currently seems to cut out at around 6-7000 revs do I need to set it up correctly?

That's just the red light and isn't in any way connected to the rev limiter, you can set it up to flash at any revs you like.
When you turn the ignition on the rev needle sweeps up to the point where it will flash the light then settle back to zero. You need to press the C button on the dash to set it to where you want it to flash. Holding the C button down will make the needle jump 500 or 1000 revs at a go, repeated pressing makes it jump in smaller increments, have a search here or in the manual.
The real rev limiter comes in around 10500 or 11000 and you'll know when you've reached that. Peak power comes in way before the rev limit so there's no real need to hit it, but it happens and that's why it's there, to stop doing any lasting damage.
Most set the light to flash 1000 to 1500 before the real limiter so you have a change of grabbing the next cog before you hit it.

No - that's not your rev limiter - that's the warning light that you can set up.
6000 rpm is max revs for the first period of running in and is what the instruments reset to.
Just set it to a limit that suits you (it tells you how in the user manual).
Think mine's set to about 10,250 rpm.
There is a real rev limiter too - but you don't want to go hitting that more than you need to.
If you don't have a user manual, download it from Martin Poll's website:
