the falco misbehaves sometimes, not starting and I just dont trust it, so bought this gsx1100 powerscreen to sit next to it in the garage. Keeping the falco for messing around locally, and if theres any touring or trips away the suzuki is getting used. Best thing about it, it its got a gsxr1100M motor in, with a wiseco 1216cc big bore

and it only cost £700
anyone else not trust the falco 100%?

Mmm! That's a lot of bike for the money. I wheeled my Falco out for an early morning ride on Saturday, and it didn't start. Motor turned over fine but not enough oomph to fire it up, s I plugged in the Optimate and took my Triumph Sprint for a blast instead. I did , however, swap bikes when I got home and took the bird for a quick jaunt too. Seemed only fair to allocate the exercise sessions equally! With the Falco, I feel that if I'll only get one shot at starting her then the battery voltage will drop and the dash will reset etc etc. However, it's a big V twin and needs a lot of power to crank her over, and to be fair, I probably need a new battery. So, although the Triumph never fails to start, I'll wait till I get a new battery before agreeing with you!

likewise - optimate on very often - but not for the last week as i have been riding a lot and just parking up etc... but starts every time
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

After fitting a new battery a couple of years ago, the falco has always started first time. Use Optimate for the winter though, but rest of the time not. Nice Suzook though... good excuse by the way!

No problems with the trusty Falco. X Cross fingers and pride comes before a fall and all that.........
The Susuki looks a bargain and I'd probably have bought it too given the opportunity.

Nice Suzi, I had the GSX1100efe naked thingie with 'kin hooge dash to keep the wind off. 16 inch front wheel and an invisible hinge in the frame makes for exciting handling.

Best thing for your Falco if you're not going to use a battery tender is to use it regularly, not for occasional local farting about as that will just drain the battery more, but to do at least two half hour runs every week on it.
Plenty of fun tuning parts for your new motor, but Jay-zuz, it's in a fugly bike!
