High Exhaust cans and rear foot rests

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:05 am

http://picasaweb.google.com/pete.dean/D ... directlink

over long bolts, 8mm 1/2 inch rod drilled to 8mm and cut to size

off sides are 37mm, nearsides are 43 mm

Bear in mind I have mille renegade cans so your pipes may well be different or need a different size!

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Nice work. Always a well finished job, unlike mine that are merely fiished.

Yep - basically what I've done. Nice job Pete.
It does apply quite a twisting moment to the rear sub frame when there's weight on the peg - that's the advantage of my 2into1 - one peg still mounts normally and that's the one I get pillions to put their weight on when mounting and dismounting.

Physics question.

My assumption would be that this turning moment on the subframe for this mod would not be found using the fighter pegs, given that the subframe and hanger surfaces of fighter pegs are mated directly to each other. Correct?

fighter pegs or this mod would be the same - though reduced for the fighter pegs due to their shape imho

If they stick out as far, it will be exactly the same - shape has nothing to do with it - all down to basic geometry.

This is what convinced me that twisting the subframe would be OK given that Aprilia does the same thing with the fighter pegs.

Hmmm. Aladinsane - how long did it take you to knock those shims/collars up? Complicated job?

Less than an hour as we had to hacksaw them! I broke my grinder/cutter so it was old fashioned way!
Then drilled and sanded down. Rattle can paint two coats then on they went!
