email from the BBC

Thank you for your e-mail to the BBC Sport website.

We have to make tough choices about what we can and cannot cover, and
unfortunately World Super Bikes falls below the line - although you will
find results on our site:

The problem is that we have limited resources, and we have to prioritise
what we can cover on a daily and/or regular basis. That means making
often difficult decisions about which sports - or, to be more accurate,
events within a sport - get covered.

These decisions are reviewed on a regular basis and, unfortunately, we
have had to conclude this year that World Super Bikes - along with
British Touring Cars, A1 GP and the Indy Racing League - has fallen
below the line.

We agree that World Super Bikes has some exciting races - but
unfortunately the excitement provided by a sporting event cannot be a
defining criterion for covering the championship, or else we would have
to watch every single sporting event and make often very subjective
decisions about which races we cover. It would also mean quite a lot of
Grands Prix and Premiership football matches would not get a mention!

We have to make these decisions on the importance of an event in world
sport, and I'm afraid that World Super Bikes falls below the line.

Best wishes

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

As usual: total bollocks from these over-paid f*ckers. That's why they cover disabled bob-sleigh races over Superbikes coverage. What a cunch of bunts.
Slash the license fee and privatise.

Sorry (again) rant over.

There is one, actually. The French snuck it in a few years back. I don't pay it on my gaff as it doesn't have an aerial or receiver (or TV for that matter), so not sure how much. I'm guessing it's a percentage of the Taxe d'Habitation, but Peter will know for sure.

That's brilliant, who the FECK would want to watch (probably) two bits of Highlights (??) on the Beeb with a bit of useless commentary, when you can watch it all on Eurosport?

ThankYou Beeb :smt038 :smt038 :smt038

Yeh, it's in there somewhere but I don't watch French TV - it's awful. Sky for me I'm afraid.

Actually, re-reading the Beebs statement, sounds like they acknowledge that much of F1 is as exciting as watching paint dry. So why spend so much of our money buying the rights back?

Because boring people watch boring telly, and there are a LOT of boring people in the country, therefore the BBC get to make even MORE money by showing boring programs.

I put Eurosport2 on when I came downstairs this morning and caught the 125GP race, since then there has been NON STOP bike racing! We've had the 250GP, KTM RC8 cup, Supersport1000, BSB from Thruxton, still got another BSB race, both the WSB races and the MotoGP to go.

The BBC can suck my balls.
