04 Falco for sale

#1 Post by brianr » Thu Mar 19, 2009 2:36 pm

Chaps

I have an 04 Falco for sale in beautiful condition (Hampshier area). I have owned it from new (my second Falco). Its in Black and Bronze with 13K miles, comes with full MOT and the Aprilia Falco luggage system and rear rack. It has the seat and Hump, full tool kit etc etc. Full Aprilia service history. This bike has been our pride and joy and I really don’t want to sell her but we are doing the Pan America highway this year and next (please see link below) and she has to go. £2950 ono

Hi Brian,
That trip does look as though it's going to be a whole lot of fun - very envious.

Shame the Falco's got to go - but if you're away for a long time I guess it's got to be. Don't need one myself though - already got one.

There again, when you get back, get yourself another aprilia, get back on the forum, tell us about your adventures and join in the fun here.

...... maybe start planning your next adventure but on a Falco :smt002

Believe me If we could use the Falco we would.

Now here’s a thing. We have just bought a oldish GS…. Now don’t shoot me down in flames yet.

This is no word of a lie. Me and Mrs brianr can do more miles per day on the Falco than we can on the BM.
Riding position on the Aprilia is just so much better for us both. After 1.5 hours on the BM both our bums are numb on the falco (with weight on wrists and thighs not bum) we can sit there for hours, and do.

What helps as well your forced to stop every hour or so on the Falco (fuel) but I can ride the BM for 3 hours before I need a refill (adventurer tank fitted 30L). All in all we have been disappointed with comfort levels to the point I have just forked out a gazillion quid for a posh seat.

If I was doing Europe no contest, Falco every time, But a year on a bike on some dodgy roads in south America needs a tractor…… which is what we have.

Keep an eye on the site we leave on June 8

I'll tell you why the BM is crap at comfort, the sponge in the seat lacks support and goes thin after as little as 50 miles, its memory foam, it remembers how cheaply it was made :smt003

Hi Brian, I know this sounds like I have an agenda (well, I do actually), but it's always said that you will get more for the bike as a whole if you take the 'extras' off and sell them separately.

My agenda? I'm looking for the Aprilia Falco luggage system and rear rack.... and your bike has one....

Would you be willing to sell me the Luggage/rack etc? I've PM'd you my details. If you don't want to, that's fine also.

Afternoon Brian,

Pity yours wasn't for sale last week as I've just bought one 6 days ago and haven't stopped smiling since!
I've been following Biketrader and MCN Falco Ads for a few months and from the description of yours it looks an excellent buy and good price. As I guess you're well aware there's not many around for sale and the ones that are seem to have been available for ages. They're either much higher mileage than yours, overpriced at dealers or just not worth looking at! I finally found mine on Biketrader within 1 hour of it going on the site.

I'd like to recommend to any other guests that they give serious consideration to the Falco. After 400 miles of ownership mine is everything the contributors to this site said it would be....and more!

Good luck with the trip and keep us informed...I too am envious!

All the Best, Alan

You can always buy another Falco when you get back.

Good luck with the trip, i'm sure a lot on here will be very envious.

We where trying to keep the Falco but alas she has to go to make funds available.
This is my second falco and I just love them. Fast reliable handle great even two up fully loaded, can beat the crap out of all sorts on the track simply a fantastic bike. I always wonder why there did not sell in the millions.
The best kept bike secret ever.

Anyway when I return in 12 months I will try and get a another so you lot keep them polished and well maintained for me.

Nooj I live just north of Southampton near Romsey if that helps
