This doesn't bode well for BBC's GP coverage

#1 Post by Falcomille » Sun Mar 01, 2009 12:38 pm

After watching two excellent WSB races this morning, I went onto the BBC website to see how they have reported it. Guess what? No mention of it at all, even under the general Motor Sport heading.
it looks like the MotoGP coverage will get the familiar treatment, chopped-off for snooker, darts or bowls, or whatever minority sport the BBC find favour with at the time.
Oh well - you guys keep paying your license fee.....

I don't care - I'll watch it on Eurosport - that way I'll get the 125s and 250s and just have to wait for the delayed MotoGP broadcast .... which is no big deal as I usually record it and watch it later.

No reason to believe it will be any worse than last year, which generally showed the whole race live, albeit without the smaller classes.

D-R, I thought Eurosport had lost the rights to MotoGP - it was BBC only this year?

Ahh didn't see that bit... hope they kept the usual team in place.

They had .... but they got it back again except they can't show the MotoGP class live. Live MotoGP will be on the beeb for those that can endure the commentary.

Thank god for that, do eurosport deliberately employ drones for coverage. I could swear they have Jeremy Vines brother commentating. :smt015 :smt015 :smt015 :smt015 :smt015 :smt015 :smt015 :smt015

Just to re-inforce my point - check this out on the BBC Sport website...

Neukirchner & Xaus win at Misano yes - this is the headline in the motorsport/motorbikes section of BBC Sport this morning.

What planet do these twats live on?

Sorry, rant over, back to painting....
