Finished fitting heated handgrips!!
Finally got the handgrips fitted. They are Oxford digital ones. It took longer than I thought it would but then doesn't everything. The two main problems I had was finding somewhere to mount the control box It ended up on the right hand fuse box bolt using the supplied bracket. I tried various other places but this was really the only place it seemed to work. The other problem was the throttle. The new grip squeezed the throttle body causing it not to snap closed. (i suppose a free cruise control mod?) so i had to cut the ridges off of the plastic until it was a looser fit. All seems well just been out for a hour and they are great. They heat up quickly and on the 100% setting are well toasty.
Just need to pop to Halfords as the kit didn't have enough cable ties to tidy it up.

Ideally you'd want it on the left, that way you don't have to take your hand off the throttle to adjust it. Not had a close look at the new digital controler yet, so don't know how it mounts.ibicker wrote:...finding somewhere to mount the control box It ended up on the right hand fuse box bolt using the supplied bracket....
This is normal, everyone else with hotgrip has done the same I think and cut the ridges down, I know I had to. A non-returning throttle would ba an MoT failure.ibicker wrote:...The new grip squeezed the throttle body causing it not to snap closed. It's a surprisingly involved job, not as simple as it first appears

Straight from the battery. The system claims to have minimal battery drainage. It also doesnt run if the engines not on and if the battery voltage drops to 11.5v it switches itself off. I'm a little worried as have had battery issues before although now have new battery that has totally sorted my starting/dash reset issues. I will see how I get on this week. Will be commuting short distances this week half hour to work half hour back will post how I get on. battery on charge now! Oh me of little faith!
Nice, but I'd agree with Nooj with putting the controller on the left hand side.
Slight derail since we're on the subject on heated grips...
I'm currently running a set on my SV and will be transplanting them shortly. They cut out on idle so I don't think they'd flat the Falco battery when plugged in directly. However I would prefer to run them via the ignition circuit + a relay, can anyone suggest where I could easily cut into the ignition circuit (which wire, where)?
Cheers
