Short question to the experts: Beowulf cans
Just a short question
On Beowulf homepage there are two sizes 380 and 450mm, is that the only difference? is the stubby louder?
Also, besides shape, is the Warrior better (quality, sound etc)

I know when I ordered my Fuel can it was shorter than standard. We discussed a little what length to make it (well they explained and I nodded pretending I was intelligent). They advised not going too short as I might run into problems with noise.
Therefore, for any model of can, shorter versions will tend to be louder than longer ones.
Beowulf will almost certainly be the same.
Don't know for sure about the Warrior but I think you are paying the premium for the shape.

Less length means less muffling, so more noise. It also means less exhaust gas pressure. It won't be a big difference, but you may notice you have less midrange and a tiny bit more top end power.
The external shape of the can is irrelevent, it'll still have a round tube in the middle.

if i was to buy a new can for the falco, and was being budget but not brand conscious, I would go for fuel
Beowulf make nice stuff - but if you want performance you would go for blue flame or akrapovic....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Especially at the moment, Fuel stainless cans are 'on offer' for £248 a pair, which is bloody good value.
I rang up Beowulf to see if they could/would match or get close to Fuel's price, and they wouldn't budge an inch. And this is after offering a really good deal at the NEC (which I stupidly didn't take). I like Beowulf's stuff but I wasn't particularly impressed with their lack of willingness to 'deal'. I guess if their sales are healthy they can afford not to drop their prices.

I bought a pair of Beowulf Gold Shade titanium ovals at the NEC show 3 years ago for £250. Blue Flame quoted me a "really good Show Special deal" of just under £500 for their similar titanium twin outlet cans. I went with Beowulf, and have been very happy with them. They told me they would be fine on the standard chip if I left the baffles in. I did, they were. Also fitted a K&N at the same time which I think helped.
The shorter units have less baffling and are louder. The standard length cans noisier than I would like with the legal baffles in. I always tend to wear earplugs, but If ever I go out without earplugs in I do feel a bit embarrassed, they are that loud.
Never had then through a noise test for a track day, but think they would fail. I think the thin walls of the titanium cans may make them a bit noisier than cheaper versions.
I have had no problems with mine at all and the build quality is good.
Can't comment on the Warrier as they were not out at the time, but look well built to me.
The big thing for me between Blue Flame and the older Beowulf single outlet, is that the latter are loud and legal as they stand.
To be legal with a twin outlet Blue Flame you have to fit the plug, which I think looks crap and defeats the twin outlet theme.
If you run without the plug in every cop worth his salt can immediately tell you are non legal.

sorry but i must correct you there, blueflames are only illegal with the top baffle out or both. with the top baffle in, removing the plug makes very little difference. i run mine with all four out, yet last summer i was pulled over by vosa and with police in attendance bike running and they did,nt even mention them.i thaught i,d had it.
