*sigh*
Stupid people. The race track was there long before they were. They knew how loud the place was before they moved there, but moved anyway.
As Bird said, they should leave if they don't like it.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

It sounds like a typically sad story where somebody comes along later and wants a long standing facility closing down.
This is a completely different story, but these cases can sometimes go the other way.
There is a small vehicle scrap yard about 5 miles from where I live in Rotherham. It has been there for many years, (probably 40), and never really grown much but is sited in a rather strange place. It is in the countryside and in a valley with fields and trees all around it so very well hidden, the only building near it is a farm which probably sold them the land all those years ago. It has always had planning permission etc..
Anyway somebody bought the farm about 5 years ago, got planning permission for quite a few "very large/expensive" houses and sold some of the farm land off in plots, in the area near the yard and down the approach road to it.
Once they all moved in they quickly got together and decided that the scrap yard had to do and demanded that the site be shut down and restored to "green countryside". it was a blot on the landscape, and seruiously devalued their properties. They put in an appeal and tried to get planning permission revoked.
In a nutshell, they got told to sod off, this was a long standing business, with all the correct approvals and they knew it was there when they moved in, so don't bloody complain now! It was certainly not going to be shut down to increase the value of their houses.
I think the big issue at Croft will always be track days, that they probably initially did not declare when they got original planning approval, (weren't invented then!), they were almost certainly limited to a number of agreed noisey race days.

Yeah - from what I read the complaint is not against racing but trackdays. I'm guessing that this is partly a tactic to get round the fact that croft was there all along (but maybe it's also true that the impact of the place is greater than when they moved in).
The Facebook Croft supporting group is growing at an amazing rate ... up to about 7,500 now !

It really needs to get over 200,000 to join to make a mark IMO.
