Bike Show

#1 Post by Falken » Sun Nov 30, 2008 8:03 pm

Is anyone going to the show tomorrow, and wants to meet up for a walk round and maybe a beer.

Or has anyone been.

Whats it like, is it worth going.

I'm looking for some new discs. Any recommendations?[/b]

I was there Thursday (Trade Day) and expect I'll be there next Sunday (my boys want some kit)

Wasn't much new TBH. The new Yam Divi the BMW WSB thing and the Bat Bike were there. For me the best bike was an old Norvin on the Carole Nash stand.
Someone's shaken the ugly stick at the new R1.

Visit the Club Aprilia stand - the only Aprilia presence. They had a Shiver a Mille SP and another (an RSV or 2-oh-no - can't remember). I dropped in for a chat with them (I joined up at their stand last year).

I've not many pics but I'll post them up later.

Pretty much agree with all D-Rider has said. For me the best stand was KTM, by a mile. Very much like the look of their 990 Supermoto. It was my wife's birthday and she got new helmet, boots and gloves.

I got a pair of earplugs...

Virtually all the current Jap stuff leaves me cold. All angular pointy bollocks styling; it's getting very hard to tell any of the 600cc+ supersports bikes apart.

never mind the superbikes, I saw a phot of the new Triumph Thunderbird, it looks like, well.... almost any custom style bike you care to name!

Nice pics Andy - some seriously fugly machinery in there though :smt009

I'll be there next Sunday with at least 2 of my lads. Mostly going on the last day to see if I can get some cheap kit for a little adventure I've booked for next year :smt016 The majority of the new bikes leave me cold - although there are one or two exceptions!

If you fancy meeting up for an overpriced cup of coffee, PM me your mobile.

Cheers

Dave
The ride is the reason ........ the destination is just the excuse.

Is it my imagination or is it smaller this year. The show I mean, just seems there's a bit less of it? :smt017
