... spilled wine on my home PC and had barely a minute for 'recreational'surfing on work puters until the thing was replace this week. Falco is fine for the moment despite two punctures though expect more exasperating mechanical hypochondria soon! Missed me?

Yeh, we missed the damage reports.
You're a walking accident mate, how do you manage to keep the bad run going?? :smt009 :smt017 :smt009 :smt017

It's about time your luck changed.
Get out on the bike and cheer yourself up.
Is it all back straight again?

...it's becoming more of a - dare I say it - hack these days. I have little enthusiasm for the financial investment it'll take to get it back to the cosmetic condition it was in almost a year ago. I still love the ride and the sound though - it's a bit like one of those ugly girlfriends you won't introduce to your friends but hang on to coz they bang like a barn door. Note, I'm not really a sexist pig but you gotta admit conventions about sex and relationships make good analogies to bike preference - always wanting to get your leg over the next, sexier one that zooms past etc

Sounds like a good analogy to me, good luck on both scores !!
We all enjoy a good ride.
:smt002
Keep enjoying the bike whatever state it's in. It's nice to have a bike that's looking good, but the ride is the important thing, (think that's back where we came in.) ?!?

Oddly enough, girlfriend I have - also distracting me from all things Falco :smt008 contemplating a 2nd bike - monsters have always appealed. Would be nice to have a 'mistress' to wow people with when the looks of old faithfull get a bit tired. Part of biking, for me, is (shallow again) the cool factor... contributes to the enjoyment - noisy, and uniqueness of sporty v-twins as a sort of exhibitionism when you pull up at the cafe/tesco/workplace. Guilty pleasure of mine is revving the snot out of mine in the parking building at my local movies - jeuvenile I know but love it none the less. :smt003

Good to see you back k1w1 .... even with the old slapper of a Falco that has seen better days.
Now I know you've been giving her a bit of a beating and she's got the scars to prove it but I seem to remember there was a time when you tried to tart her up a bit and disguise her scars and bruises.
That got me wondering ..... do you have any of her old clothes lying around unwanted? In particular, I'm after a pair of Falco fairing sidepanels (or even just the one). Condition is not that important as they will be coming in for serious surgery.
If you do have them (or if any of the rest of you have some), please drop me a PM and maybe a deal can be done.

(Hope you don't take this as a request to pimp your true love) ....

Cheers D :smt001 but the thing is still wearing all its slightly foxed (rather than foxy) livery. Tatty yes, but from the right angle still passable and the straight through pipes herald my presence from about half a mile away :smt003

Cheers - was just a long shot - don't seem to be any about at the moment so I thought I'd chance my luck.

D, wait until spring when it's crashin' season again, there'll be plenty of bits about when the fair weather types fail to get round the first bend of the year they come to.

Oh yeah, welcome back Kiwi an' all that :smt003

Yeah - think I may have to .... though I'd hoped to have been doing this little bit of tinkering over the winter months.

..... there again there are a few other goodies to go on in the meantime ....
