Falco wont start !! dash displays "no start"
Not been out on by bike for a couple of weeks now, went out to the garage to start her...battery was dead.
Charged the battery...she starts...runs really really rough then stalls .. then wont start again .... engine just keeps turning.
also, dash displays "no start".
Ive rcently replace the stand and removed the switch.
Ive ordered a new battery, but, the fact it starts some times and runs roughly makes me think there's another problem .... any ideas ??
cheers

Fouled plugs did for mine a while back and a nice shiny set of Irridiums did the trick (+5bhp toosthomson1 wrote:Had a wee look at the spark plugs ... one of the front plugs doesnt seem to be firing very well.
Ive ordered a set of NGK plugs, fingers crossed this fixes it.

Might want to check the plug caps and leads while you're in there as they can get abused as they're awkward to get too esp. the front one.
Under the rider's seat - make sure you put it back the right way up if you take it out. BTW if I remember right you can't just short it out if it is faulty - when things are OK it has a resistance (can't remember what off the top of my head - have a look in the workshop manual or search this and AF1 forums for the detail)sthomson1 wrote:
tip over switch ??? where is that located ?
cheers
Plugs have nothing to do with the message. Restoring the tipover sensor to it's correct position should solve it.sthomson1 wrote:located the tip over switch (inclination sensor) ... i had it hanging upside down while i was working on the bike .. thats why i was getting the no start message.
Still wont start. Ill update once ive installed the new plugs...hopefully these will fix it.
cheers
Problem solved.... somehow ?????
Removed the 4 spark plugs and cleaned them, recharged battery, checked all connections ... she started 1st time !!!!!
I think maybe it was dampness somewhere, not sure.
Also got the GSXR (gsxr600/750) stand installed and adapted to fit the stand sensor ... way better than original stand, the stance is solid now, plus, it also tucks up nicely behind the bellypan

I noticed the front spark plug leads were kind of slack where they clipped onto the spark plugs.D-Rider wrote:Mine was back to its old trick of starting on one cylinder today .... doesn't half come in with a kick when the other pot joins in .... glad the roads were dry today.
i used long nose pliers to pinch the HT leads together, so they would grip the spark plug a wee bit tighter.
this might be the cause of your problem !! poor contact between lead and plug... ??
