Front brake lever for RST1000 - help!

#1 Post by DrJonno » Wed Oct 08, 2008 5:41 pm

Hi there,

Anyone know where the best place to get a replacement front brake lever for the RST1000 is?

I just dropped my 'Fut while trying to get it onto the sidestand and it snapped off completely at the cylinder.

Woe is me!!!!!!

Are they not the same as the Falco / Mille / RSVR / Tuono / RS250 ones???

If so, there are always one or two on ebay and the breakers should have a few knocking around I'd have thought

I'd have thought so too. Brembo set up ?

Have a look at the part numbers at Yorks Aprilia......

Thanks for the pointer to the details - it looks the same as the Capo, pre 2006 Tuono and Futura have the same - RSV is completely different though.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi again!

Didn't half swear when I broke it!

What happened to the Futura forum? Did it die?

mmmm .... think you might be the only fut we've got at the moment .... but we'll still talk to you. TBH although we've a handful of Tuonos and the odd Mille, the Falco domination cannot be concealed.

That being said, All Aprilias are welcome here (if only we could reach a critical mass with some of the other models).
Everyone is welcome on the Ridersite in general.

Hi Jon,
The one thing I can guarantee is that the front brake lever on my 2001 Falco was identical to the one on my 2007 Tuono, I reckon the RSV is the same as well (obviously could be wrong but the levers, master cyclinders etc,, are the same on my mates 2002 RSV Mille)
Where are you? could you arange to meet up with a fellow member and have a look??

Yup - most definitely. The Falco appears the same as the RSV and the 2006+ Tuono. The pre 06 Tuono and Capo are the same as the Futura.

A new brake lever costs about £70!!!

I tried getting a pattern jobby - everyone offered me the RSV one.

Eventually found Wemoto - £16 including post for a pattern version. Seems pretty well made - not as good as the original but a little cheaper and it came next day - yeaaaayyyy !!!

And it even prompted me to.... wash it.
