The next General Election

#1 Post by Gio » Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:28 am

Its nothing to do with your politics, its just a guestimate of when you think the next one will be.

We all know the favourite to be Spring 2010, but will this government survive that long, I don't think so, if fact I think its going to be before summer next year.

So have a guess (educated or otherwise)

Never thought it would survive this long so I haven't a clue! Won't go till they have to if you ask me, the days when they called an election becauise it became clear they'd fecked everything up are long gone, after all, they're not there for the good of the country but to wring every last advantage and contact out of their careers.

Cynical? You could say.

Sorry but I have no idea.

It hasn't even occurred to me to consider it - perhaps there should be a 'who gives a s##t' option.

I suppose I am just burying my head in the sand as all a general election will bring is the bastard Tories back for another right royal shafting (of me).

Oh and elections usually mean a lot more work for me and my kind so NO THANKS.

I don't care either HTHs....

actually I've gone from someone who, after studying that subject, knew the inside out of politics to someone who doesn't even know the cabinet ministers now or even what the opposition leader looks like....

Am I proud of that? no, but other than stand for PM, there is nothing else I can do, that's sensible anyway :smt003

LOL me too.

Back in the dark days of Thatcher, the nuclear threat and huge unemployment I took a real interest.

Realised just before the election that new labour meant "tory in disguise" so never voted for them ... and basically the interest wained as there was so little choice (with a realistic chance of election).
If only John Smith had not died when he did.

That being said I do believe there is a gap between them and dread the tories coming back to power.

When will the election be - dunno - don't want one soon.

BTW - Ligs if you do stand for PM, we'll vote for you .... but as we don't elect PMs (a good thing too) then I guess that ain't gonna happen.
