Firefox 3 giving me hassle

#1 Post by Fausto » Fri Sep 05, 2008 4:48 pm

I was always a happy Firefox browser until recently. Since the upgrade(?) to 3 it's been giving me endless little niggles.

eg - I had the Met Office plug in type thing with an icon down in the bottom right corner. It's just disappeared.

If I shut FF down I can't reopen it without a restart of XP. Seems it's not closing down properly as when I tried to uninstall FF I was prompted to close it first even though I had already done so.

Clicking on thumbnails no longer opens up a new window with the bigger picture.

I reInstalled it and within minutes the Met Office thing was gone again and pics still won't open.

Anyone else having problems. I'm thinking of moving to another browser.

Oh, and the new bookmarking system is crap (or is that just me?) :smt009

Had a few hiccups and yet again switched back to an IE derivative that always seems to come up trumps. http://www.crazybrowser.com/
Worth a trial I'd suggest.

Well I'm now using Opera 9.5 to see how that goes but I'll take a look at crazy if necessary. Thanks Samray.

Not much help to you though :smt017
I seem to recall Google launched a browser this morning called CHROME. Don't know anything about it.

Tried Chrome out yesterday. Not at all impressed tbh. Seemed particularly clumsy.
They also tried to con people into giving em copyright on anything lodged there until uproar got the small print changed.

believe chrome was hacked within 3 hours of release.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Aye D/loaded, tried, uninstalled Chrome.

It's like a Harley Davidson of the Browser World.. Clumsy and basic.. Probably why they called it Chrome..

Mine never disappears , as for Opera, well it works but I'd not jump up and down about it.

Google Chrome 'keylogger' found in IE8
It was hardly hidden but probably worth a mention.
