I have been thinking about changing the front sprocket to 15 tooth just wondered if and how this affected the speedo reading? So many speed cameras around Edinburgh don't fancy getting caught inadvertently.

Having no garage my precious will have to weather the weather outside I wondered if others have recommendations about covers, I had thought about the Oxford Storm thingy buts its £60 and yet I have read reviews that have said that its not fully waterproof. Any experience of similar high end covers and whether they live up to their press?

Im pretty sure changing the sprocket does not affect your speedo reading... I think it cos the speedo sensor works off the back wheel and not the sprocket? Someone more brainy will be along soon.

Before I had a garage, I used the cheaper Oxford cover - the Rainex, and it was great.... the bike was always dry on removal even after a heavy downpour.

That's right, speedo still works fine. No need to change anything.

Confirmed. The sensor counts the rear brake disc bolts.

so don't go changing those for stainless.

Jut bought the Oxford stormex from a shop on E BAY with a lock and the quailty is superb well worth buying if outside over winter

this cover you are talking about, how would that effect the "indoor clima", i mean wouldnt there be condence (dont know if its spelled correct) inside if you leave the cover for extended period? just curious.

Condensation.

I dont think you will have this problem as its not a sealed environment. At least I have never had this problem.

Thanks, however the wifey just suggested to put it in the livingroom during winter... what a nice wife i have.

as long as she does not put flowers in the cans i can only be delighted.

dont want to hijack this thread, but no she didnt. She is buying a Triumph Thunderbird next spring/summer, so maybe she just want to establish a precedence.

Now I'm inspired if I can just persuade the wife to let me keep the Falco in the living room we'll save money on the cover and all these anti corrosion sprays I was planning on buying! I could also save more money by servicing the bike myself in the warmth in front of the telly. How reasonable is that? How can she refuse?
