I guess most will have heard about yesterday's tragic air accident in Coventry.
As with all such tragedies, thoughts and condolences go out to friends and family of the victims.
Now, this is yet another air crash that's a bit too close for comfort. Since I've lived where I do, there have been 5 aircraft crashes within 2 or 3 miles of home.
The first was a Gloucester Meteor in 1988 - came down on a field next to a School and houses at the bottom of our estate (probably about half a mile away)
The second was the Boeing 737 that came down in 1994 - coming in to land with a cargo of cattle if I remember. Clipped some houses and came down in a wood - taking out the power lines - the power cut was the first I knew about it.
Then in 2003 a replica of 'The Spirit Of St Louis" came down at Coventry airport when it's wing fell off.
... and now we have the latest tragedy with two aircraft colliding - again within spitting distance.
.... and they say that planes are the safest way to travel .....
Are they trying to get me?
