Yes I posted a response to someone last week. I stuck some duct tape around the near end of the tank to protect it from rubbing straps and zips on my tour last month. When I took the tape off it brought some lacquer off too. Not really noticeable but i need to do something to stop it getting worse.
Clear tank protector I think.

Same happened to mine, a bit of the lacquer chipped off so i rubbed down the area to get off all the loose bits filled it up with some clear coat then used this 'mer scratch fixing kit' thing i found in my garage (had it for years) and now i honestly can't see where the repair was made. Took some guts though, as i was sanding down the lacquer to get the finish right i was praying let this all polish out when i use the cutting compound. It did and i'm well happy with the result
