Aprilia Overdose
Planning an Aprilia overdose this Saturday, booked rides on the Mana, Tuono and Shiver at one of these experience Aprilia days, it will be interesting to see how they compare to the Falco. It seems to me that they don't have a direct replacement of the Falco at the moment, the guy in the showroom in Paisley said that there was some talk of a Shiver with a three quarter fairing, so it'll be interesting to see what the Shiver engine is like. Praying for half decent weather

Call me old but in my opinion the Mana, is the only one worth riding, scarcity value (ala Falco) plus either a automatic or clutchless manual..
I'm not a fan of the Tuono its common as muck and the Shiver is a ugly pile of shit, designed for the morons of the world.
I would add I've ridden all 3
Take a look here Mana
Biased? Yes a fair amount and pleased as well

What have I started?
Must say I am looking forward to riding the Mana for the experience of the automatic thingy, I have never even driven a twist and go so it will be interesting. I have arthritis so I am wondering if it might be the way to have a decent sized bike in the future if it becomes too painful for me to pull in the clutch lever. I would rather slit my wrists than have a scooter.
I quite like the look of the Shiver but a 1200 would be a lot more attractive to me, size does matter (well so my wife tells me)
I fancy a shot on the Tuono to see if there is a big difference between its engine and the Falco's.
So should be an interesting morning

I can't disagree. I hated the look of the 1st generation but it's grown on me and I love it now. 2nd gen - I don't think I'll ever like the looks but it's one of the best bikes ever produced nevertheless.fastasfcuk wrote:if the tuono is as common as muck ? it's still a work of art.

I mean it, as I look at the world through 54 year olds eyes. Its a bit like all those dummies who rave about the 60's crap in the 4 wheeled market (ie Cortina, Granada etc)
There are very few real bikes now, they seems to be designed to be ridden by morons, the sort who enter corners 2 fast then slam the brakes on without any brown moments.
The Mana is easily the best bike ever designed for Aprilia and it will spit you off if you take liberties.

I've become very good at biting my lip!, But I only spotted 6 Tuono's at the TT this year , and have only seen another dozen or so on the road in the past 18mnths, so not as common up here obviouslyGio wrote:Call me old but in my opinion the Mana, is the only one worth riding, scarcity value (ala Falco) plus either a automatic or clutchless manual..

So when are you placing the order then Gio?
TBH I think the Mana is a very interesting bike and as long as Aprilia have done a good job could meet many peoples needs - particularly if they have varied needs, commute on it and still want a proper bike.
I wonder how many will give it the chance it deserves?

Seen quite a few down here sadly all in standard trim
The Mana is like hens teeth tho. One thing its really great at is pissing off the sports bike riders in London, with their hamfisted gear changing
