Carbon Fibre bellypan
Righty-ho then... I've been talking with someone who claims that they can make a carbon fibre bellypan for the Falco. They are a marine and aviation carbon fibre production company and already do a number of bike parts on the side. I've seen some of the stuff they produce for Aprilias and it is very high quality.
What they want to know now is... would they sell and if so, how many could they expect to shift. This will determine the price. Obviously the more they can make, the cheaper they will be as they will be able to spread the tooling costs over more units.
I'm happy to lend them my Skidmarx pan and negotiate a group buy if you like.
I know you've heard all this before from various people including me, but these guys really seem to be on the ball and willing to give it a go. They are happy to make just one if need be, but obviously it will cost a packet.
They have estimated a cost of between £170 and £250, depending on what's involved. All they want is a rough idea of how many they could sell initially.
Anyone interested?

Would really fancy one, but given I've got a plastic one that I've still not fitted, I don't think I could justify the cost (to myself or the missus!
)
One suggestion though - get a template that's been modded for a GSXR sidestand (assuming you get enough interest), I'm guessing anyone who's done the mod and wants one of these won't want to start chopping into CF

Got ten people interested so far between this forum and the AF1 one. I'll keep an eye on this post if anyone else is interested.
This is just getting possible numbers don't forget, nothing's settled yet.

Up to twenty possible buyers now, a prototype GRP one has been made and will be shipped down to me for a trial fit soon. If it fits, a carbon fibre one will follow all being well..
Will keep you posted.

It will fit with any stand, Mr. Hacksaw paid a visit to the original before I sent it away to have the mould taken from it :D

Not yet. Guess they're looking around at what's available and seeing how much work and matting is involved.
