I am looking for a second bkust be a tourer - with hard luggage and preferably a shaft drive

suggestions please :)

I want to spend under 2000 so will be an old bike

and yeas, I am keeping the falco :)

* Comfortable
* Powerful (110bhp for A1-A4 models)
* Fantastic luggage capacity
* Huge 28.5 litre fuel tank - good for well over 220 miles
* Superb weather protection
* Mirrors like TV screens
* Cheap to Buy
* Plenty of space for a passenger
* Shaft drive (no messy chain to maintain)

What to look for:

* Noisy camshafts (£350 each plus fitting) - sounds like very noisy tappets
* Loose timing chain (tensioner may need renewing)
* Exhaust maniflow prone to leaking at balance pipe
* Worn steering head - prone to steering shake

That would be my suggestion or how about a Suzuki GSX750F teapot - pig ugly but pretty much bombproof and not too slow either (600 is OK as well but not as quick) - you would just need to get luggage fitted.

Oi!!! I used to have a teapot. Like I said, it's a bit fugly but does what it says on the tin.

Don't think you should really criticise, what with your fetish for snot green bikes

Surprised you haven't tried to get him on a ZZR 6 or something

No.. I was going to suggest to him something suitable like a GPz, however chose to offer the GTR

I almost bought a teapot once, off a mate.

However after test riding it for a few days decided to buy something else.

We do appear to be drifting away from the Hard Luggage and Shaft Drive requirements specified.

If these were not vital I would throw in 1200 Bandit S - the faired one. Great for all uses this side of scratching and easy on Pete's ageing back
