Anyone know where I can get one? rsvr.net used to sell a budget one, that you sit over the throttle body intakes, was about £20 or so - can't find them anywhere on the net. Needs to be fairly idiot proof (after all, I'll be using it

)
I've seen the fancy ones (like Carbtune an so on), but didn't really want to spend that much on one, also don't want the hassle of having mercury in the garage so don't really want carb sticks.
Suggestions/links?

Can't provide links at the mo (having a few PC issues), but the carbtune jobbies don't use mercury they're just big metal rods in glass tubes.
To sync cylinders properly I'd always use something that allows you to see what's happening to the other cylinders as well as the one you're working on. Adjustments to one will affect the other.

Haven't seen the Evo tool for a while either and someone on the US forum was asking where to get one too.
I've got the Carbtune sticks and, although more expensive, they're good. Also, for info, they're mercury free as they use stainless steel rods.
Edit: In spite of the time difference, Dale beat me to it

Thanks for the tips guys, may look at one of the Carbtune systems given what you've said, the bike's running a bit rough atm, didn't want to spend too much to see if this is the reason, but the bike has always felt a lot smoother after each service, when they've done this - if it's happening mid-way between the services, guess I'll just have to invest in something
One follow up query - is there a specific vacuum level to use, or is it just a matter of syncing the two pots to each other - IIRC the method on Ken's site is about feel and educated guess-work - I've not got the experience doing this sort of thing, so would prefer some specific numbers if they're available

Balancing carbs is a favourite job for me, though I have the set with circular gauges uinstead of the tubes and the ones wityh tubes are definitely 100% better IMO.
Problem with the round gauges, there's always some flutter and though you can adjust them, if you adjust all the flutter out there's no reading.
No specific figures, all you're looking for is balance.

has never been used so is still in original plastic
I tend to acquire such things when I see them :)
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I have a first generation carbtune set (the mercury type) I got them almost 18 years ago (i know that 'cos it was the same year my daughter was born). Never had any issues with them except having to get a new syringe for setting them up. They are still going strong and work perfect. They have plugs in them which allow air through but not fluids. I know this because I tested them. I always store them upright but I know they will not leak unless someone does something stupid to them.

I did something stupid with my carbtune..................dropped 'em on their end and the mercury hammered its way out all over the garage floor
