The team has already passed its £10,000 target and hopes to eventually double the amount to provide better facilities for wounded servicemen and women returning from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After two weeks on the road, the men of the Grantham-based regiment which provides training to Territorial Army reservists headed for their last stop at the Lincoln Show to join the TA's centenary celebrations.

The team's 350cc despatch bikes were built for durability rather than the grandeur of the legendary cruisers normally associated with the Harley-Davidson name.

Harley Davidsons - grandeur?

Goog on 'em though I must say there are so many of these charity runs being done now it's getting difficult to know which ones to support! LE & JOG must be ceawling with bikers most of the time!

Well I'm doing a charity bicycle ride next year, John O' to Lands End.

Dates not been fixed yet but its in aid of the MS Society and The Royal Marsden.

I'm working on a time scale of 3 weeks to complete it and I rather fancied doing at the same time as the TDF.

Not to take anything away from the thread, I wholly support anything that gives our returning wounded (physically and mentally wounded.. it's not all blown off arms and legs) a fighting chance of recovery.

I found this on youtube and thought it rather good.

I have no problems with going to war personally (as in me going) but I thought this yank anti war video was pretty damn good and pretty well reasoned..

That was a derail and a half.

Interesting and very well put, if ill-informed*, propaganda from an unusual side of the fence. This world we live in was formed on competition and violence that is such a deeply ingrained part of the (mainly male?) psyche that it will always prevail.
