Mille swinger

Howdy all. Ive got a mille swingarm at home. Will prob need new bearings, and a few bolts are seized. Prob bit of WD40 and elbow grease will unstick them. If anyone wants it, you can have it for free if you come pick it up

there you go fausto - you can do that when you put the mille shock on... LOL

having said that I know one other member who may want it - they have broken a part of their standard falco swing arm, and were going to put my original one on - but they may be tempted.... I am certain that some trade will come along soon :)


Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Like i said, couple of bolts will need wd40ing to get loose (inc one chain adjuster) Other than that its fine, few scratchs, no dents. I just dont need two hanging around the garage. lol. So if anyone wants to collect it, thay can have it :smt001

Hello everyone, i've still got this mille swingarm hanging around my garage for anyone that wants it. I would deliver it, but cant be bothered with hastle of finding a big enough box etc. And due to lack of car / car licence, i'm limited to where i can walk with it. So, if anyone wants to take it off my hands, please take it!!

Yes I am interested - it's just getting down to yours in the car. I'd do it any and every day on the bike but in a car.... :smt011

..... it is possible to carry it on the bike ... I took mine to the powder coaters on my bike so that they could see the colours of the bits and pieces on the bike to try to match to it.
Just fit the rear seat, wrap the swinger in bubble wrap or something and bungee it on there.

BTW my bike is sitting in the garage with no swinger at all at the moment ... better get out there and do a bit more to it I guess ....

There you go, take the bike :-) My other one is off to powder coaters as soon as i get bearings etc out, and then contemplate fitting it, lol

... and just in case anyone needs to know what bearings are fitted to the swinger so you can source them somewhere cheaper than your Aprilia dealer, I've just replaced the bearings in the Mille swinger that I'm fitting.

The bearings used in the Falco and Mille swingers are the same.

The pair of ball races (#1 in the picture) are SKF 61904
The big roller bearing (#11 in the picture) is a Torrington HK3026
The roller bearings for the linkage {2 in the swinger and 4 in the dog bone} (#2 in the picture below) are Torrington HK1812V. These are "full compliment" bearings - packed with rollers and no cage and are better for high load, low speed applications ... and are hard to source .... I couldn't get them and have fitted some caged rollers. I'll keep my eye on them and see how they do.

Howdy all. Swingarm is pretty much gone, just awating phone call tonight. As for bearings, thats bloody useful info, as im in process of (thinking about) replacing my bearings

... dumb Q, I'll give that the mille swingarm is definitely sexier than stock, but is it 'better' ride wise - apart from (presumeably) being less of a headache to chuck a mille shock into? This is Mr. Mechanically 'challenged' speaking remember, rather than one of you torque-wrench-wielding-can-rebuild-an-engine-blindfolded-while juggling-flaming-hedgehogs-in-my-right-hand type dudes. :smt003
