split enz (kiwi) joke

#1 Post by k1w1boy » Wed May 28, 2008 7:08 pm

<everybody sing now> I've just spent six weeks with a leaky bike... given up resolving my coolant leak unprofessionally: bring on the spannermonkey. Mechanically challenged and proud riders of the world UNITE!

and anything is better than flight of the concraps

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

...think the 'unwashed' reference was refering to the fact that our English bretheren once had a reputation for bathing but periodically. The lack of sophisticated plumbing (showers), living a dozen to a house, sharing one bath/bed/domestic goddess, and spending the bulk of their time in coal mines, factories, or assaulting each other at soccer matches being the root of this. :smt003 You live in Oz Pops so am guessing cleanliness is next to Aussie-ness and no wonder you've heard of Split Enz. Stopping now.

:smt017 and all this time I thought the need to wash constantly was down to the close association with sheep. :smt083

Aha, but I've only been here for 6 months, new arrival from London. Born in Gods country though SCOTLAND.

I can still hear the bagpipes and taste the haggis.

Was it one of the Finn brother's bands? Some connection to Crowded House, but I can't remember what it was.
