This was my reply to the same question a couple of weeks ago, I have one fitted on my Falco -

Only got a couple of photos, one with the original stand and one with the new one off ebay.
As stated in the thread it does sticl out a bit when folded up, but could possibly mod by grinding off the stop a bit, but I aint got around to trying it yet!

SideStand

#6 Post by GregD-UK » Fri May 30, 2008 7:49 pm

Hi all,

Just to let u know I bought one and the bugger snapped on me! The weld on the top of the connection where it meets the top bit was weak... Luckily I was stood next to the bike when it happened and I caught my bike before damage was done :smt019

I have since, welded a huge weld all around the top of the stem, if the bastard fails again I shall be paying a visit to this guy with my calm nature switched off :smt011

Check the weld looks OK if anyone buys one of these things.....

Ur friendly lens guy.
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

or a WP rear shock.... my original stand is fine now :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I was all set to buy this redesigned one, but GregD's post has put me off
(the last time I had a sidestand incident cost me nearly £500 for a new fairing !)
Have seen a couple of cheap Gixxer ones on Evilbay but don't know which will be best

There's one off a '99 GSXR600 SRAD
And one that says it's off a GSXR1100................are either/both of these any good

A quick response would be appreciated, as they finish today !
