Not easy to tell from the angle of that picture, but I'm not convinced that's quite the same as mine.

There again, I can't say for sure it won't work ....

Hi FHB. Why not save yourself a lot of work and get a Firestorm stand?

Here's one..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/honda-vtr-firesto ... dZViewItem

I have one and it's fine. Very little modding required too.

Second vote here for the VTR...much better then stock and has a real 'solid' feel to it.....can't say about the ease of modding, someone did it for me :smt003

Hey
After i put a RSV04 swinger on my bike, the rear have raised about 1-2 cm. Therefore the sidestand are little bit to short. I read somewhere that the sidestand from a Honda Fireblade are longer, and will fit a Falco. Can anybody confirm this, and tell me what year i should look for ?

See picture of my bike a the temporary sidestand fixer here :smt001

Should be relatively straightforward but some VTR stands apparently come with wiring you can plug straight into your loom - others don't so you need to use your own switch.

I detailed my fitting here..

I saw a SP1 VTR in the car park at work today so I measured up the side stand. At 19.5 cm it's pretty much the same length as the one on the Falco. Is the one from the "ordinary" VTR (Firestorm) longer? I would have thought it needed a longer stand at a less vertical angle for most stability? my bike has not fallen over yet but looking at all the posts I'm getting a bit paranoid and want to sort it before any damage is done.

Has anyone run a ruler over the firestorm stand?

I think the angle of lean with the vtr stand is better than the standard falco stand.... the length appears to matter little

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

hi, don't know if i am the man but i can say the firestorm stand is a good mod.
i have fitted mine its been very good and is an easy mod if you use the falco switch you need to drill a new hole for the peg on the aprilia switch its very easy to do.
I have also fitted a small allen bolt into the slot bellow the stand bolt this improves the mod as it makes the stand site more upright you could put some weld on the stand bracket stop this would do a better job but I'm lazy, i just glued in a small bolt it does the same job. I can confirm the vtr stand is a little longer than the falco stand and is much stronger , if i get time I will post a picture over the weekend.

hope this helps.

ps, the vtr swith works the side stand light and fits the aprilia loom but mine did not work the ignition cut out if you dont mind this, personaly i would play safe and fit the falco switch.
Always expect the unexpected
