Indicators...
... right. I'm curious about changing the "pipe and slippers" indicators on the front and the back of the Falco. What are the best ones to go for? Can I simply drop some in? And will the missus notice?
Where should I start looking?

Hi,
lots of options here,
check out Noojs new mod HERE
or kiwiboy stuck some mille ones on, probably the easiest way HERE
and I've got LEDs from halfords. you'll need to get a LED flasher unit of ebay too. pics of mine with LED at bottom of page HERE
I believe some are even incorporating the indicators in their rear LED lights
I think ebay is the best place to start. saw some LEDs like mine go for under £10 a pair

Personally I like the look of my mad doctors indicators.GRFalco wrote:... right. I'm curious about changing the "pipe and slippers" indicators on the front and the back of the Falco. What are the best ones to go for? Can I simply drop some in? And will the missus notice?

This requires a led blinker and adding resistors.
At the rear I removed the indicators and used the rear lights as indicators (officially not allowed!).
mille indicators
...as Flyingkiwi said, the mille indicators are easy but admittedly not quite as sexy as other options. They're a bit pricy too 25gbp EACH new from rsvr net, but I got an amazingly clean 2nd hand set on ebay for about 60gbp all up. I put clear lenses and orange bulbs on them and I've pics in a thread from about a week ago ... try and ignore my grubby wheels
I like 'em big, with minimal fiddling

well - where to start!
simple plug in bulb replacement types are easy - plug and go
LED indicators are as easy, but need a little bit of planning - if you just go front or rear LED then you DO NOT need to change anything electrickery wise
If you replace all four indicators, then you DO NOT need to change the flasher units - rather, add a resistor, 16ohm/10 watt wired in parallel to at least each side of the bike - you may need one to each indicator
As for mounting in the rear tail cluster... :)
Currently I do not have many images to show off as I am revamping my website, but http://www.petedean.org.uk/www.petedean ... Falco.html shows some views of my bike.
(I alson integrated the front indicators into the fairing, but unlike Nooj I went for blisters. My rear ones are integrated into the rear tail cluster. Since these images were done I have added a couple of other bits as well :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

When is it Pete - next thing on my radar was the club Aprilia day but always looking out for an excuse ....
EDIT: Just spotted it's 17/18 May. Not sure I'll make it as I'm off to Japan again during the following week (for a couple of weeks) and I'll no doubt have to sort some things out at home before I go ..... there again, maybe I'll squeeze in a quick visit at the last moment - if I'm lucky.

I bought a small box that does the trick. You just place this box between the wires to your rear light as well as connecting the indicator wires to it.hornetrider wrote:How....?! Seen the pics but could you explain how?Aladinsaneuk wrote:

If I remember correct it was about 55-ish euro's.

bah
no need for that malarky
i took apart a couple of led indicators, the ones that blink orange
I stripped down the rear light, and exposed the reflector
i popped a small hole in the reflector and then araldited the plate that held the leds onto the reflector.
i then wired the leds via a resistor into the main loom
job done
