need to get a new chain and sprockets, any reccomendations on who to use?
want to go 16/43 so as to get away from the 15 tooth front, also prefer DID.
any suggestions. B&C seem to do tsabaki, ever heard of them?

As a noob having just bought, but not fitted, a 15 tooth front i am curious as to why you want to go back to a 16 tooth front, perhaps you could enlighten me?
As for chains any branded jap chains are good, `X` ring better than `O` ring but more £ DID always used to be OE on many jap bikes, Tsubaki as good. dont bother with Reynolds or Regina. Reynolds broke on my `verda and Regina stretch like overcooked spaggetti

I wanted to go back to a 16 on the front, but take the gear reduction to a larger rear sprocket.
This is so as to lessen the load on the front sprocket and chain.
As it turns out I have had to go for a standard set up, cost vs availibilty.
so i will probably run it for a bit, then get another 15t front sprocket.

The load on the chain will not change as you go to a bigger front sprocket combined with a bigger rear sprocket.xrphil wrote:I wanted to go back to a 16 on the front, but take the gear reduction to a larger rear sprocket.

What will change with a bigger front sprocket is that the chain clears the swingarm a bit better and since the bigger front has a bigger radius the chain is bent less sharply.
I am also going for 16t front and 44t rear.
The differences are very marginal for both the change in sprocket diameter and bend of the chain - I did work it all out but the info must be on my PC at home. I really wouldn't worry about it.minime wrote:
