shock re-furb
Right, i've just got my grubby hands on an old white spring mille shock, obviously it's a bit old and possibly has a few miles on it so i'm thinking i'm best off getting it re-furbed before fitting it on my bike. So can anyone recommend a company that offers a decent service. Thanks in advance

Refurb
Just had one done at All Bike Engineering in Greenwich. Cost £140 for a rebuild including replacing the blocky thing (sorry, can't remember what it's called)

It had been getting sticky for a while (creaked on rebound) and I had no idea how many miles on it when I bought it so figure it was well worth the money. It's lovely and firm now!

This bloke is based in Bradford, a friend just had his Ohlins forks re-sealed with new oil for £85, said the guy was good and very quick turnaround (although he dropped the forks off)Big_AL wrote:there's a guy on ebay that offers a shock re-furb service for £85 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aprilia-Cagiva-Sh ... 18Q2el1247 anyone here used them?
Gareth @ Reactive did my Ohlins shock re-furb for £85 last year, you'd need to check the price now though

Another firm is Setup Engineering in Wandsworth http://www.setupengineering.co.uk/
IMO James is one of the best in the business he sorted my Blackbird out after the original shock went west.
He's well known around the race paddock as well

Ok, so my shock looks immaculate and I've decided to try it before sending it off.
I've followed Pierres technical drawing and removed some of the valve.
I have also tried to set it back to standard settings.
The manual I downloaded from Martinpolls site says 14 clicks from closed for rebound? (bottom adjuster).
But for the compression (top adjuster) says "from completely closed open 45 clicks". But that is fully open. Is this correct. Doesn't sound right to me.
I've gone for 14 clicks and 22 clicks. also set the shock length, between centres, at 322mm (std) and spring length at 130mm (std).
What have other white shock users got theirs set at?
