to any-one wishing to tinker with the ride height adjuster on a white spring mille shock. As the bike was out of action waiting for the clutch salve cyl to be returned I thought I would regrese the rear suspension linkages. As the shock was off I decided to adjust the ride height adjuster on the bottom of the shock (thats what it's there for!) Anyway undid the locknut and with the lower mounting eye securley in the vice, went about unscrewing it. It was fairily tight so plenty of penatrating fluid and a little heat and it was moving...........then ping! the bottom eye split open (I had removed the spherical bearing)........aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhh. Many thanks to Daveshill who had a spare shock knocking about and I picked it up the next day (yesterday). Now just need to get my modified gas res cap fitted and then regassed.
I suppose I was lucky.
A Warning!
