What about the CBX750 - does that count as a CB?

Hey all,

I had one of these for 10 years, then traded it for a highly modified one before getting my Aprilia.

Anyone else have one of what was supposed to be Honda's last I-4 engined bike?
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

I had this 1992 CB750 F2N (Retro) for a couple of years.

Pretty bike, felt old school big Honda, but heavy and only around 72bhp, so performance was not modern either. "Big" aircooled engine lots of chrome, looked classy.
Liked it a lot at the time but moved on.

Hi Howard,

Your 750F2 is (was?) based on the CBX. Detuned a fair bit (down from about 90hp) and with a 5-speed box and cable clutch instead of a 6-speed and hydraulic clutch.

They were only available in the gunmetal-grey colour down here. No silver, red or anything.

That was one of the reasons I bought it, a mate of mine had a CBX750 during one of the times I was bikeless and I had a run on that. I always remembered it as a nice bike hence the choice of the CB750F2, and to be honest that was a great bike to come back with. Problem was I came back in my early fifties expecting to be cruising around it bit more, it was just that I got the "speed" bug back again and had to move on.

This was my 750KZ but it certainly didn't live up to Honda's build quality claims :smt005 but it was lovely to ride and bloody fast through the gears.. a great bike.
