ohlins shock for falco
Hi all will an ohlins shock for an 04 mille fit my 05 falco? the part no is 8795041/2, thanks in advance.
This one's not such a well known mod - whereas the suspension geometry for the Falco and the earlier milles is very similar, apparently it is not so similar for the latter ones.
People have fitted the later shock + linkage + swinger but I'm not sure of the success of only swapping part of this (ie shock + linkage)
Most of us stick to the Mille stuff up to '03 and Tuono to '05 as we know it works well.
Sorry not to be more helpful.

My understanding is that the spring rate is much softer on the 04 Mille onwards, so you would almost certainly need the linkages & dogbone to be sure the set up was right. Even then the geometry is different from this model onwards
As D has already said, the earlier linkages & shocks work so well, it's probably not worth experimenting unless you get the whole linkage set up with the shock and have access to a good suspension guru

Don't think the Falco was produced anymore in 2005.wookie1506 wrote:Hi all will an ohlins shock for an 04 mille fit my 05 falco? the part no is 8795041/2, thanks in advance.
Only shock that is a simple swap is the White RSV 99 Sachs.
The 2000 - 2003 schocks will only work after changing the linkages.
The 2004 has a totally different setup.
You could use a 2004 swingarm ( be carefull not to buy one of the bas ones that were recalled) but you will have height clearance issues.
