Summer is coming and I want some ideas please

I want to get RS, ARS and KRS a bit more promotion. Not really 'full on commercial' but I want to get the message out that we are here, etc.

Clearly sponsoring a BSB superbike aint gonna happen (Besides, RS last sponsored and ran a WSS bike.. BSB is a bit of a comedown )

We've got Cards available and I can arrange for more as required.

Ive still got some magnetic calendars to stick to fridges.. (or use to hold nuts n bolts...) available that bear the RS logo, etc maybe they can be utilised somehow

Do we have any budding Artists out there who could knock up some A4 size, or A5 size poster-like flyers for putting up on Noticeboards at Bike meets? (Something people could download from the Internet (I can host the file) and print off as and when required.)

Beyond that, what else could we do, little to no cost, (legal obviously) to promote the Site this coming warm weather season? (I know plenty of you do advertise the Site when you're at meets by way of word of mouth and Thankyou for that!)

Ideas appreciated! Im looking to promote all three Sites, RS, ARS and KRS and not just individual ones really.

well, i tend to put a card on each aprilia that i see....

this year, may i suggest that you shamble along to the uk club aprilia meet in july?

press the flesh and get seduced by the v twins....

So whats this KRS, never heard of it before.

Once I get my new bike sorted out I'll be up for some sort of promotional escapades.

In the early days of Ridersite I put flyers on dozens of bikes on Poole Quay but to my knowledge not one of them brought anyone to the forum - so I'll pass, thanks!

I agree though, the flyers never seemed to work as well as they should have. Too large to be stowable maybe, or too easy to just discard crumpled up when they got home. I think the cards serve their purpose better, but was thinking some form of poster (ok..flyer not left on a bike) may work better. The only problem is they do take up a lot of space on walls and boards and are taken down as a result.

Maybe ridersite mango flavoured condoms could bring in the next breed of ridersiter..

..and kill off the next generation of ridersiter in the process..

can't you get some geeky person to fix it so it appears near the top of google when someone types in aprilia or whatever...?

What about using google ad words and 'trading' so to speak by displaying a google ad in say the top right corner of the site... the revenue you get from that could/would/should be enough for them to display RS on other sites?

Any sort of advert featuring pictures of Ligs and her next door neighbour should do the job ..... but would we want to share them with a group of prospective newbies or keep them to ourselves ?

I know what you mean Ligs. Im already pursuing the promotion of RS and the others on the search engines. RS used to carry advertising from the sponsors (remember the 'click me, dagnammit!' advert for Rene?) but this hasnt carried over with the single sponsor of Bike Johnny.

If you type in Aprilia into Google we come up eventually. I think I need Hammy to play with the meta tags on the home page. I know he did have plans afoot to try a few other things. I shall have a chat with him some time!

If I unhid ARS and KRS, I would hazard a guess that I could treble the stats we get , hits, etc however that would possibly ruin the Site for those of a non-aprilia persuasion and overwhelm the 'view posts since last visit' search tool with aprilia posts

I was tempted to try it for a week, subject to a poll of the non-aprilia active members but sacked it in favour of protecting the RS site's own identity. RS is RS and should stay as such.
