Anyone want a job?
Following on from my thread yesterday regarding me leaving my current job for a new position, I have been asked if I could help look for or assist in finding a replacement to take over from me. I thought that there may be a few people here who may have the right qualifications and who may be interested.
The job is driver training related, and the right person will be working for a major utility covering the whole of the UK and which in due course will probably cover the RoI
You will be resonsible for the education, assessment and policy making in respect of about 10,000 drivers from car drivers through to Vans and some specialist equipment, although the knowledge of HGV's is not as important as it is for cars and vans.
You will need to have confidence to deliver presentations to varying numbers of people ranging from 10 up to 200+, you will need to have good knowledge and undertsanding of the Highway Code, be able to prepare and run driver training courses, train driving assessors (course notes are already written) and deal with senior executives, managers as well as guys and girls at ground level.
A lot of travelling is involved, and sometimes you may be required to do an overnight stay, all of which is paid for by the company. Some courses are run out of Scotland, so if you live in the south you are flown to Edingburgh business class, or if you use the train you travel first class, but a car is provided with the job as well.
You will also have to liase with various road safety organisations such as RoSPA, RoadSafe and the Department of Transport.
If you have either an ADI or advanced driving background this will be a definate advantage, and you will be working with a colleague based in Scotland.
Where you live is unimportant as you can be located at the depot or office nearest to where you live, and as you will be covering the whole of the UK, you will be travelling a lot anyway.
If this is something that sounds interesting and you feel that you may be suitably qualified for the job, then drop me a PM and I will give you more information with regards to salary and benefits, and I will put you in touch with the Manager responsible for recruiting my replacement.

There are at least 5 that I know of as I seem to spend a lot of my time in South Wales. 2 in Cardiff, the main one being at Cardiff Gate, one in Swansea, one in Bridgend and one in Cwmbran.Myrkk wrote:Hmmm, I have ADI qual.still........is there a depot in South Wales?
I think there are a couple in Mid Wales as well.
Hi TRon, thanks for the interest. If ou are genuinely looking for a full time job, then you won't need to be an active ADI or recently check tested (although I appreciate that you are), and if you are interested, then drop me a PM and ill give you some more information.TRon wrote:Hi, TC and everyone else. Long time, no see as they say.
I too am an ADI, well until my Check Test on Thursday
Based in Surrey, happy to help in whatever capacity.
