OH! An update email! BFO Motorcycles

#1 Post by Kwackerz » Wed Feb 06, 2008 9:29 pm

I quite liked the idea of the switch:Blade when I participated in the survey..
Dear Sir / Madam,

Limited edition Honda Fireblade and Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycles now
available.

About eighteen months ago you participated in a market research survey for
BFO Motorcycles to determine whether or not we would go ahead and build the
switch:BLADE motorcycle. The result of the survey was an overwhelming yes,
and the switch:BLADE, of which only 100 will ever be built is now for sale.

The switch:BLADE frame kit features a welded tubular frame and swinging arm,
complete pre-impregnated carbon fibre bodywork (including fuel tank and self
supporting seat unit), precision machined components, brand name instrument
cluster and brake lines, plus all the extra parts such as lights and
indicators that enable a complete bike to be built. The kit retails at
£7,499 inclusive of VAT, and can be purchased online at
www.bfomotorcycles.co.uk, or by calling Steve Atkins on 07798 756285. In
addition, there is a wide range of high level accessories that can also be
purchased to enhance this very special motorcycle. The kit is sold as either
a basic kit or as a finished motorcycle, and can be completed either with a
customer supplied donor bike, or one supplied by us. The switch:BLADE frame
kit is designed for use with the CBR900RRX (1999) and earlier models.

Since then we have completed a second concept, known simply at the moment as
the hayabusa:PROJECT. Based on a similar premise to the switch:BLADE (and
styled by the internationally renowned John Keogh) we are now taking advance
orders on the hayabusa:PROJECT, with the finished bike expected to be
unveiled at the 2008 International Motorcycle And Scooter Show. Numbers will
again be strictly limited to 100.

In addition, once the one hundredth of either motorcycle has been sold, all
frame kit customers will be entered into a prize draw with one winner
receiving a full refund of the cost of their frame kit.

With this product range, BFO Motorcycles has the potential to grow into a
world renowned motorcycle manufacturer. By building on the excitement
generated with these products, and with current press interest from several
national magazines and many international websites, we aim to expand as
follows:

* by having the ability to complete a production run of 100 of the
highest quality motorcycles on an annual basis.
* by having a range of dealers across the country, and several foreign
distributors.
* by attracting the best components from aftermarket suppliers in
addition to our already large range of high quality parts.
* by moving from a small industrial unit to larger, more showroom like
premises.
* by increasing our current level of top of the range machining
equipment.
* by providing business for several local component suppliers (the
majority of our parts are sourced locally).
* by allowing BFO Motorcycles to achieve it's stated aim of becoming
the leading manufacturer of niche motorcycles in the world.

Please do not hesitate to contact us by either telephone or return mail
should you have any comments or queries, or simply wish to purchase a
motorcycle.

Thank you for your interest in the switch:BLADE, the hayabusa:PROJECT, and
BFO Motorcycles. Further details can be found at the website below, where it
is also possible to place online deposits for both the switch:BLADE and the
hayabusa:PROJECT.

Best Regards,
Steve Atkins

I must say though, looking through the 'professionally done' gallery for the switch:Blade, this pic kinda spoils the whole thing.

Completely puts me off the whole idea. A ghastly pic of a poorly finished component?

Can't say it really pushes my buttons - never really been a fan of the chromed tubular frame look.

I like the lack of rear frame, but the rest does nothing for me.
