non starter!!
Hi all
had problem with my falco yesterdya it wouldnt start, it fired on first attempt but didnt start then after that it wouldnt start at all, tried to get it going a few times but now all im getting is a clocking noise from one of the relays under the rear seat and nothing else when pushing the starter button, i have ordered a new relay to try and see if that fixes it, if not im gonna have to push it a mile from home and call out the recovery people to take it to southern cross, any one else experienced this ? and does it sound like the relay is knackered? im not a very mechanically minded person. optimate is telling me my battery is fully charged, this has happened once before but when i got home after getting the train to work it started first time but yesterday evening still all i was getting was a clicking from a relay.
any help appreciated
thanks dave

Solenoid probably matey.
If the relay is clicking it's working.
I reckon the noise you are hearing is the starter solenoid trying to connect, but failing. It's been covered a few times, I think the latest victim was on the AF1 site.
The solenoid is on the right side under the plastics. Take the plastic off and short across the solenoid terminals with the ignition on, don't use your best tools for this as they will probably melt a bit. If it starts then it's the solenoid. I think there is a yahaha or honda part that is cheaper and more readily available.
Good luck.

Yep - if it's under warranty get them to sort it out for you.
If not, as 'Poops says, this has been covered before on the AF1 site - together with part numbers of alternative components that are better specified and cheaper.
