Sold my Falco

#1 Post by crosstowntraffic » Thu Dec 20, 2007 10:29 pm

Hadn't really planned on it it just kind of happened. It all started at the NEC and an innocent look at the Ducati stand where I spyed the sports classic 1000 and was hooked; but then after finding out they were £7499 otr kind of lost interest. Until that is I saw a used one for sale in North London; Black with white stripe 12 months old with only 409 miles on it plus the full termignoni system with filter and ECU, brought by a guy in his 70's because it reminded him of his (long gone) Vincent. He then through all the extras at it before he realised that he couldn't actually ride it. I only went to have a look and it was spotless, even with £1100 of extras plus all the original bits got it for £5289 with £3000 trade in for my 04 Falco. Ended up riding it home. Early days yet but I am a very happy owner (even just loking at it) though I'm gonna miss the Falco think I am in for a different biking experience.

Happy Christmas and thanks for all the helpful advice.

Sad to hear its gone - but hope you enjoy the sport classic and someone else gets the chance of Falco ownership.

Do stay in touch - remember that most of the forum is not Aprilia specific - and anyway, you'll still be welcome in the bits that are.

Cheers.

good luck mate - sounds like you got a bargain

be safe

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I looked at them for a minute or two as well. But I like some fairing protection.

good luck with the Duc :smt001

Yes it was mine with the Leo Vince High Level Cans; I really like them they made a good sound with the baffles in and were very loud without them dependeing what mood you were in. However being high level you have to loose the rear footpegs, numberplate hanger and rear indicators. You also have to cut down a standard size number plate to fit the gap betwwen the 2 pipes; but for me they look good sound good and seemed to be good quality mine were titanium purchased 2nd hand for silly money off e bay.

Still planning on touring on the Duc (it already has the raised handlebar conversion plus the orignal clip ons) but planning on getting the nose fairing and fitting my existing ventura luggage. My wife rides a Monster S2R so mostly ride at bearble speeds on a naked bike most of the time anyway. :smt003
