It does seem a rather simplistic set of options.
You suggest that people either agree with the protests or don't care.
How about those that care but support the discouragement of the mindless use of fossil fuels by means of pricing?
A more realistic poll, or protest, might be concerned with the outrageous price of diesel compared to petrol in this country and the relative cost of biofuels.

To be honest, I dont really care. I drive less than ever before so dont get crippled by the costs of fuel.
Pushbike tyres, now there's a fekkin liberty!! paid 20 quid for a flippin mountain bike tyre the other month.. 20 quid!! That's almost a quarter of the cost of my last pushbike in it's entirity
I got sent the email too btw.

The pole is a little simplistic i have to agree it was just a bit of fun really I was probably making a little too light of the cost of fuel these days....Samray wrote:It does seem a rather simplistic set of options.

Everything is all way too expensive for my liking tbh,
As for those that care, and support the price rises in fuel taxes to discougage the use of fossil fuels they probably shouldn't even own a bike or car let along drive one....

I had a girl friend who was a vegitarian, but still wore leather shoes... isn't that the same as owning bike/car, but discouraging the use of fossil fuels..

We're driving less now so it doesn't cripple us as much as it used to but should hubbie get a contract a little further away our costs will rise significantly, esp. if he has to cross the severn bridge as the price is due to go up again....... so that'll be £5.30 to get back into wales.
Kwakerz, do you know of any good websites that show the UK cycle tracks? I'm trying to find a good one into work but it seems to stop a couple of miles away from work on the map I have.

We are just getting screwed.
I brought some oil last week. It was fully synthetic. The price was marked up as £34.99 When I took it to the till they said it had gone up to £38.99 but he let me have it for the marked price. I asked why it had gone up and he said it was because of the oil prices etc.
Now i don't know if fully synthetic oil falls into this catorgary

I couldnt. Ebay, Halfords, Cheap bike shops.. You dont think I tried all that first?! Due to the size of the tyres, the make up of the rims and how the bike is used (proper off roading as well as commuting) I cant stick Cheng Shin specials on it (trust me, Ive 3 laying round the shed that I prayed would do the job..but didnt)
My fault for buying a decent bike cheap in an end of season sale. As it was when I got the tyre from Halfords, the only ones they had in was the 25 quid ones and managed to I blag a fiver off for the fact they had no others
